New Ct200h owner and want to get straight into modding

Hi everyone. New owner here :)

I have bought a 2012 CT200h SE-L and picking it up on Monday. I traded in my much loved diesel Honda Accord as the government are really sinking their teeth into trying to ban diesels. Plus, I now only work 9 minutes from my house so it's uneconomical.

I loved the car on my test drive. It has leather heated seats, fold away sat-nav, rear view camera and a few other things that were present in my Accord which I'm happy with.

Now, I've always been a modder. So I'd like to order the parts ready for when I pick the car up. What are common modifications?

- number plate lights? (any recommondations that aren't ridiculously white and more OEM?)
- HIDs? (if so, which brand works with the auto function that's relatively cheap?)
- puddle lights? (again, more OEM looking)

Any other worthwhile modifications? I don't like modding map lights or anything as I think they'll hurt my eyes. Also, does the car have footwell lights? I drove it in the day.

Cheers, Ben!

Hi Ben

Great looking CT you have. Mines an SE L Premier. Does yours not having auto folding mirrors with puddle lights?

I've tried various LED light bulbs in my number plate lamps but after a few months they start flickering so I gave up and went back to OEM.

Mine has footwell lights. I think yours should too(standard?)

Do you have the Mark Levinson sound system?

I'm not into modding anymore. I gave up with my last car. I just like the luxury of the CT and don't want to spoil it.

Enjoy yours [emoji4]

Hi StormChaser,

I'm LED to believe it has puddle lights but to be honest I don't believe it has the auto folding mirrors. I think only the F-sport and the Premier have those (as far as I know).

I agree with what you're saying about modding but I just want to make some subtle changes with regards to the lights. Mods I do with every car.

But, your number plate lights look pretty smart for OEM so I'll have to wait until I get the car to decide. Are your lights halogen or Xenon? I notice people on the CT200h forum have gone for LED bulbs. This could be a nice alternative than a HID kit.

I don't believe it has a ML sound system. One pet peeve already is the damn airbag light. Spoils the whole central column having a bright orange light on it. I'm guessing there's no way to turn this off?

I agree about the airbag light. You can turn it off but obviously the function of the airbag is off too.

In my Accord it flashes to let you know then turns off. Search an eye sore. I'm fairly certain I read that you can turn it off but the light then switches to off but remains on so it achieves nothing :wallbash:

Still, very excited to pick it up Monday!
