Ball Joint Splitter, Spring Clamps....

I'm planning to fit some coilovers myself and from reading the knowledgebase it seems the tools I dont have which I need are a ball joint splitter and some spring clamps.

Now, my question is which ones do I need? I went to Halfords and they had about 5 or 6 different ball joint splitters ranging from £7 - £40 and soem different spring clamps too.

Which ones should I get then? Any links or pictures would be helpful! (the ball joint splitter than you can see on the knowledgebase wasnt at Halfords by the way.

if you arnt planning to do a lot of mechanical work ,why not just hire them

i went to HSS and the dont seem to have any tools for cars whatsoever. Anyone in the London area got some the wouldnt mind lending me?

i'll just by a balljoint splitter, i'll ask them at Halfords and if it doesnt work then they can have it back

I was planning to go but I have to take the girlfriend back to uni (oxford) but she has to be there for 4pm. Then before that I have to meet IMI around 12pm, so my car will be full of clothes and other stuff as i'm staying with friends in London for a couple of weeks.

I could meet you at the oxford services though and then meet IMI later wherever i'm meeting him?

If you split the ball joint with the splitter, how easy is it to get the ball joint back together again?

they normally go back together a lot easier than they came apart
