@Herbie has done this with a grom vline in such an RX and seems to be very happy with it. He installed it himself but I'm sure you could find somewhere to do it for you.

Thanks for the mention Paul.

Apoc - here is the topic Paul refers to, and yes, it's very easy to install yourself but I do appreciate not everyone feels comfortable doing that. If you install it in the glove box then you could have it done within an hour. Anyway, here's my installation:

Thanks both, that’s really helpful. I will research this further. It does seem quite involved and I’m not sure I feel comfortable doing this on my own!

Cheers

Fair enough my friend. Even if you don't want to DIY I think you may find this interesting, just so that you know what's involved:

Cartronics (www.cartronics.co.uk) in Byfleet quoted me £1,480 to fit it into my 2014 RX450 Premier. I haven't done it yet as I liv win Yorkshire. They use a Japanese product. It takes a day to install apparently.

If I were you I would find out exactly what make and model of unit they would use and then check the price of that to buy it yourself.

My Grom Vline 2 cost me £510 so if their unit is also around that figure then they seem to be charging an extortionate £980 for fitting :surprise:

Yeah, right.

OK, I don't know what equipment they'll fit so I suppose it's possible but I highly doubt it. If I'd chosen to put my Vline in the glove box like a lot of people do and not taken time to extend the Vline harness, I would have had it finished in an hour and a half tops.

Please do check and let us know how you go on because if I'm right, this could avoid you and others being royally ripped off.
