CT crazy prices

I am getting a fair amount of contact by Lexus sales asking if I am in the market to upgrade to a later model as trade in's are at an all time high at present.

Problem is, most of the newer ones have higher mileage than my 43k 2014 model, FSH. and kept in VG condition that I don't see much of an upside in doing a deal.

Interesting to see that a Lexus approved 4 year old CT is now priced at over £6k mor than when I bought mine in 2018.

In fact even a similar 2014 spec is now fetching over £2500 more than my 2014 cost 4 years ago when purchased in 2018. Must admit it does give me that warm fuzzy feeling knowing that I have a car that hasn't dropped like a stone value wise, compared to many others I have owned 😉

I had a look today and cars (CT) older than mine are up for more than I paid for mine in 2019.

Crazy times.

Yes similar issue but ultimately does it make any difference to price to change if replacement is also 30% more.

Question: is it worth upgrading 2014 facelift CT (lovely car) to post 2017/8 facelift model? Is the drive any different/better and how much better will it be at say 10k miles against 43k miles?

The facelift models have newer tech but you are right in terms of driving experience little or no difference I suspect.

Even though mine is well valued, so are the later stock items, it would still mean me parting with around £10/£12k for a 3-4 year newer model with similar mileage on the clock

Not many changes post 2014 that would entice me to part with the funds required, plus pre 2017 will always remain road tax free.

Looking at our current usage, if that remained the same it would still read less than 70,000 mls in another 10yrs time 😀

I think now they are discontinued and never sold in huge numbers I may just make it a showroom condition project and keep it. 😉
