2016 RX450H F-Sport Head Up Display

Back again !!

Don't know if my HUD is working correctly but it doesn't always show Speed Limit of the road I'm driving on.

When it is showing, it changes to the different Speed Limits most of the time as it should, and also goes a complete Red Circle when you exceed the Speed Limit, but you may be in say a 30 Limit and it removes itself from the Window, but still shows on Dash.

Also occasionally it'll say the Speed Limit is 100 MPH or as in the photo, 120 MPH ( bit blurred !) as it has just done in a 40MPH Speed Limit and stayed on this until i made a left turn into a 30MPH Limit.

Is this just how they work ?

TIA

Rob

It may be picking up the speed restriction sign on the back of a truck or something and it could be 120kmh rather than mph.

It's reliant on the camera and AI so is not 100% reliable and even when it's working it will remove the display after a set period of time. You can set the value at which the display turns red, I have set mine to +5mph.

Mine does the same and so did my previous GSF. They both regularly show(ed) the limit on the local  dual carriageway as 110mph . It is 50mph. Basically the system doesn't work as it should everywhere. This might be something to do with the extreme rake of the windscreen  and distortions misinterpreted by the camera. Just as well I rely on  the mark one eyeball  and road signs to check the speed limits. This sort of equipment malfunction is going to be a bit of a problem in the future when the powers that be require manufacturers to make the car rather than the driver obey the speed limit .

I've always wanted to be able to manually override an error with the press of a button. The only one that works is the one that switches it off altogether !
