  1. True but the risk factor is mainly the driver rather than the type of vehicle in that scenario.
  2. Sounds to me like it may have been the ECU rather than the headlamp itself, seems unlikely that both components would have failed simultaneously.
  3. The future price of EV's will be determined by supply & demand, if there is strong supply and minimal demand then yes the prices will tank. Currently helping my son who has recently passed his test to buy a car, the price of 10-year+ old ICE cars amazes me (not in a good way).
  4. I doubt it as the lock is inside the transmission so you would not get any sound from the rear. Is there any difference if going forward or reverse, in electric or ICE modes?
  5. You need a code reader so you can find out the specific fault condition. If your car is 2015 you may also be covered by Relax if the Service History is up to date.
  6. Service prices are on the Lexus website.
  7. All depends on price, yes cars should be driven regularly, but a 12-year old car with average mileage could be approaching the end of it's economic life for many vehicles.
  8. If it is rubbing you may have a fault with the suspension rather than incorrect size tyres.
  9. Sadly some owners have reported being targeted more than once now that the thieves know your car location so worth considering.
  10. If you have the pre-facelift model (without touchscreen) then it has traffic sign recognition but does not have sat nav speed limit data. The traffic sign recognition is very hit and miss though.
  11. That could be due to the weather warming at this time of year.
  12. There are many factors that will determine whether the car is running on ICE, battery or both, speed is only one. Just let the car do it's thing and you soon won't notice the difference.
  13. I'd suggest putting the old ones back at least temporarily to see if that clears the codes, if so that will then confirm there is an issue with the new headlights.
  14. There is another recent post where Lexus advised a Noisy compressor was normal (I guess depends who is paying). Is the air con now working, do you have an excessive noise?
  15. If I was a prospective customer I would also be thinking what is the after sales support - where can I get it serviced, availability of parts etc.
  16. Not necessarily, that would be for the insurance company to decide, as it stands they could face a considerable repair bill and rental car costs so may still prefer to write off the car.
  17. Respray rings alarm bells with me, sounds like a rattle can job from Halfords. Bear in mind most dealerships don't have a bodyshop facility. I would be asking for a professional refurbishment of the wheel, also needs to be properly checked for any structural damage.
  18. But does it have the Can Bus issue 😉
  19. You can check that on the DVLA Car Tax website.
  20. Personally I would just take it to the dealers and ask for a re-gas which should include checking for leaks. I would not expect it to cost any more than what they have quoted just for diagnostics.
  21. You could just ask for a regas, that may well fix the issue. Best thing with air con is to leave it on all the time, otherwise seals etc can dry out.
