Exhaust Gas Recirculation

Just a quick one. Does anyone know if the series 1 GS300 has got exhaust gas recirculation? If so, it's gotta go! I'm not sure they are so hot on that in this country. If someone could point me to the EGR valve if it has one too.

If you clamp the vacuum pipe going to the valve that will stop it.

I wouldn't. EGR can reduce engine power but Toyota program the ECU to compensate for it and by disabling it you may get too high engine temps. or get knocking which will be detected by the knock sensors and retard ignition timing (which will reduce power anyway).

Where do you get all this information from, like the drawings? I noticed you can access stuff from the American Lexus website. But you need to register details first, and I haven't got an american address.

I would love access to technical data. Being an engineer, I have access to all kinds of workshop equipment and it can really come in handy. I aim to avoid the use of Lexus motor vehicle engineers! And the costs too! :)

You can buy the workshop manuals from Lexus. Use an online subscription company such as alldatadiy or get the 3rd party manual CDs that exist on eBay.
