Morning all,

Couple of weeks ago got a low pressure warning from a rear tyre TPMS.

Sure enough it was low, pumped it up and checked the tyre for nails screws and the like - nothing. Tyre stayed up for a week or so then started to gradually loose pressure again.

Took it to the local Tyre centre - the ones who's fitters are trustworthy....... - no holes in the tyre but the valve is leaking.  Can you replace it? yes...... have you got the right one? yes........ So they put one in, recoded it reset the TPMS on the car and their monitoring system picked up a signal from each of the tyre sensors.  The car though didn't, showed no reading and the TPMS light is intermitantly on.

Lexus said it would need a genuine TPMS (of course), and it recoded. To give the trustworthy fitters their dues, they ordered a Lexus TPMS and The car went back yesterday. Put it on still no luck, recoded it, Same issue.

It really odd, I had the wheels refurbed a couple of months ago, the front 2 TPMS valves were replaced and recoded at the refurb centre - no issues......

Any Ideas???  Apart from use Lexus next time........

Thanks

The TPMS sensor codes numbers need entering into the car's system via Techstream or equivalent. I assume that Lexus will know this but the local guys may not have the appropriate system to do this.

Sure, simple really .   if you can live without the TPMS lights on the dash then.......  don't bother with it all anymore BUT check your tyres the old fashioned way from time to time AND at the MOT time have a sensible word with the guys organising that with the Tester .....  presumably your tried and happy regular car mechanic ......  for him to have a quiet word ..... it should be able to pass ok at that precise moment in time the vison of the dash Test is done

Just a thought
