70k Service

Car in for 70k service today.

Good news service £109. :D

Bad news needs 2 x new ball joints at front and a by pass pipe

Total cost nearly £500.

Anyway I was too lazy to get the work done elsewhere so agreed to it.

Picked up my car.

Somemore good news. :D

1: They didn't rip me off on tyres told me to get them somewhere cheaper.

2: They are looking to replace my Sat Nav screen under parts warrenty as it was replaced less than 12 months ago.

3: I asked for and got a free key fob.

Bad News.

1: Withinin 300yrds my car was making the most horrible screeeaching, grinding wihiining noise. Straight back I went.

2: Luckily it was still doing it when they test drove it.

Result:

Lots of appologies, and a courtesy car (nice SE Auto) whilst they fix it.

I'll keep you posted.

In their interest to do it soon and for free, I'm due to rack some serious miles in the next few weeks.

They called me this morning noise is due to a seized calliper.

But as they didn't spot it in the service they are going to replace it, & I get to keep the SE until the do. :D

Conclusion to my story.

Caliper replaced FOC as it wasn't spotted during service. I had SE as courtesy car throughout and racked up 300 miles.

Well done Lexus for admitting fault the fixing it.

I'll wait & see if I get new Sat Nav screen.
