IS300h ICE acceleration whistles

Recommended Posts

Hi
I got a 2015 300h a couple of months ago. I noticed (only noticeable with windows down and no music/radio) a slight whistle that only kicks in while the ice is delivering power (thus when pressing the pedal). When I suddenly release the pedal the whistling stops.

no whistle at all while in EV. In maintenance mode , when revving the ice , it seems that this noise is not here but I need to confirm.

i read here similar topics suspecting the high power pressure pump or using a low octane fuel (95, never tried 98).

it is not brakes and is definitively coming from the engine bay.

the noise is roughly this one but maybe not exactly .

Just put of curiosity it's not the ASC that you have dialed up? The Active Sound Control dial can be found on the right hand side.  If dialed up it can make a droaning sound.

Hi, thanks for your inputs.

It’s not the ASC, I turned it off the second I entered the car because I hate it 🙂

This whistle doesn’t really seem normal and even rather unpleasant hence my doubts…

I’ll make a proper video to compare to yours, Matt.
