Emissions Fail on MOT

HI,

 

My IS220D 2007 has just failed the MOT on emissions, the chap said take it for a blast up the motorway and they will test again.

The car does a lot of short journeys as i work a mile away from my house, it does have a good blast of about 90 miles every other week, although doesn't really go above 2000 rpm, i thinking the short journeys do not help.

 

I was thinking of putting a cleaner in the diesel which may help get it over the line, can anyone recommend a good diesel / engine cleaning additive?

 

Also any other advice.
