2003 RX300 Sunroof Rear Drain Holes

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The rear footwells in my RX300 are getting wet whenever it rains and it appears that this is being caused by blocked sunroof drain holes. The front two holes are completely clear and drain water as they should, so it seems that it is the rear two sunroof drain holes that are blocked. Does anyone know how to access these as they appear to be impossible to get to?

They run behind the side quarter panels in the boot.  You might find one or both are kinked there which tends to collect rubbish.  I cut mine short and put a length of 15mm copper pipe at the lower end and they have stayed cleaner ever since.

Thanks Herbie but unfortunately it has not been possible to open the file despite trying all manner of ways. Thanks anyway.

Oh well, at least we tried.

In the trunk, you'll find them extending behind the side sections.  Both of them might be twisted there, which is a common spot for trash to accumulate.  After I shortened mine and attached a piece of 15 mm copper pipe to the base, they gradually became cleaner.
