Just had my 'renewal' through from L&V.

As others have reported, they have declined to insure again!

Souring the ownership experience this nonsense is.

I had the letter too, but weirdly they still come up on some of the comparison sites with a reasonably sensible price (but high excess).

Yes, ive noticed that too.

My renewal isnt due for 40 days, they say the best quotes are to be had approx 23 days prior?

Just wondering if i should grab a deal now if theres one available or leave it 2 - 3 wks and risk other underwriters pulling out of the market for this car?

I can tell you it was about £50 difference if I wanted to insure the XK in the next few days after purchase to what it was if I put a date 3 weeks hence.

The comparison sites generally offer dates 1-month in advance of the policy start date.

So I took out a new policy as soon as I could, then two weeks later saw exactly the same policy and company on another comparison site for around £240 cheaper (nuts I know).  So cancelled the first policy before it started and took out the cheaper option, (cost £20 in admin to cancel, but I did get a £15 amazon voucher for taking out the policy initially).

My renewal price £736 vs £659 last year.  Happy with that after reading all the crazy prices others are asked to pay.

With NFU who are top rated.
