Question please regarding factory fix for fuel cap issue

Recommended Posts

Could someone kindly advise what the Lexus fix is for the fuel flap not opening problem. After 4 and a bit years my fuel flap is misbehaving - Lexus have sanctioned a free fix, but I just wondered what this entails exactly?

Its a big job, there will probably need your car for the best part of a day to fix it unless the repair job is different than mine was, it involved removing the back seat and panelling in the boot.

mine still sometimes sticks, i always clean the inside of my filler cap when cleaning the car and now have got into a routine of spraying some WD40 silicone spray and wiggling it back words and forwards a few time, since doing this i haven't had any problems,

Mines 2021 and the flap opens like there’s a hungry werewolf behind it - feed me! - so I’d guess they fixed the problem on newer cars. But IT RATTLES! Top down, windows down, the fuel flap will jiggle a bit on bumps. Maybe that’s the price you pay for the upgraded werewolf version.
