Re-doing The Audio

Recommended Posts

Ok, probably been asked before.

Right i'm kinda in the mood for change the stock head unit. However after reading numerous articles about the amp being a pain in the :tsktsk: i'm considering just "re-doing" the setup. The main part of the plan involves me purchasing the is300 head unit converter and butchering it up so that it connects to an iso connector.

Now would i be right in saying that i could just hook up the fronts without any mods to a head unit and all would be ok. I ask as there are cross overs in the door which could complicate matters.

Next the sticky subject of the rears. By the sound of things i reckon that i should replace them. Could i use the exisiting wires that are in place ?

Finally, maybe a stupid question. If i unplug and take the amp out, will the head unit cable still be wired to the speaker wires or will i need to build some sort of "bridging" unit to connect it all up ?

Any info will be of massive help.
