Tinted windows

Oh!! and can someone please tell me what % tint the rear windows are on a MY00 IS200 sport?

I'd like to get the front doors done to match. As it seems a good shade.. not too dark at night and good in the sun.

Does anyone know what the legal limit is for front door windows?

i had mine tinted the same at Tint-R in Nottingham the same as the rears

I wanted to know if it was light enough to be legal on the front too and it sounds like it is :D

I guess it should be quite easy for a tinting company to match the %.

Out of interest how much did the front two windows cost to get done?

tinted windows cant be more than 25% tint on all windows side and rear. windscreen cannot be tinted, you can put a sun strip on the windscreen though

The rear and side rears on a sport are 40%, the front sides cannot be more than 35% and the windscreen cannot be done.:D

I think thats right anyway, the guy from Lexus told me as they can tint the front windows aswell if you want. But they charge £200.

Like Mat said, Tint-R made a fantastic job of tinting our windows. It took the guy a good 2 1/2 hours to do my car. He removes the door panels so there is no visible edge along the bottom and files the top edge of the film so it doesn't snag on the runners. He used LLumar film as well which is one of the best available. The best thing of all was that he only charges £50!!:o:o:o

so, I can have 40% on the front windows to match the back? I'm presuming the value is the percent of light let through, so the lower the value the darker the tint?

£200 sounds way too high.. I like the sound of £50 though. Might even be worth a trip down from rainy Yorkshire to have it done.

I thought 0% was totally black, no light through and 100% was clear.

So it would appear the lower the number the darker the tint.
