Gs300 Mkii Front Brake Pad Replacement

Recommended Posts

Use the highly instructive and helpful article on http://www.lexls.com/front_brake_pad.html if you've never replaced brake pads before.

With the GS300 MK2 calipers looking awfully like the LS400 (well it looks similar to the pictures) the procedure should be the same

The replacement pads I used were purchased from SAP Motor Parts (www.sapmotorparts.com) and cost ukp 21.09 ex VAT per axle set. (No connection with company, just seems to be a cheap place to get certain parts)

Manufacturer: Quinton Hazell

Part Number: BP1164

You should also really check the sliding pins. Remove check for rust (rub down if there is) and re-lube.

Much better to do this than wait until you have a seezed caliper (quite a common problem on the IS and GS) which will cost you £££ for new brake discs, pads and maybe a caliper as well.

Use of cooper grease will also reduce the chances of brake squeal and to stop pad rattling/clicking noise look here:
