Is200 Audio Amp

HI GUYS

I have a 2001 IS200 and I am changing the Bog Standard Audio system! I am wondering if someone can tell me if there is an OEM audio AMP in my car seperate to the double DIN unit I will be taking out. My car is not the SE model or anything just entry level.

I need to know this for the install of a Kenwood in dash multimedia system(KVT-725).

U have the S model I assume, so U dont have an oem amp.

I thought all models had a seperate amp?

If I am putting in an aftermarket Kenwood system, the KVT-725, do I need an AMP? it says it has 4 x 50W output. Is this enough since I hear the IS200 has 8 speakers 2 in Front doors, 2 Tweeters behind wing mirrors on inside, and 4 on back shelf?

The 8 speaker set-up is for SE and Sport only. S is only 6.

Your 4X50 should drive 4 speakers yes. But what about your other 2?

Umm... it all depends on what you have. Im no expert maybe someone can confirm if the following is true.

S is a basic model and I don't think you get 8 speakers.

SE and Sport models come with the amp and 8 speakers, basically its meant to be an all round system. I have a sport, and its a bit of a hassle to change my standard unit becuase I have to get a new rear speakers and new speaker cable, something about the speakers and amp are not standard.

But as mentioned above, I don't think the S has any of issues. but once again, you should check the ICE forum.

And I already said the S has 6 speakers, the SE and Sport have 8.

S spec on Lexus website - check audio at the bottom.

Ok I think I may only have the 6 speakers then! Cos I can only see 2 on the back shelf and when i go into the boot and look up I can see the backs of 2 speakers only! So If that leaves me with six 4 + 2 Tweeters will this 4 x 50W unit power them? Would I be leaving out the tweaters or something?
