Renovating An Old And Tired Engine

Hello everyone i have jus got myself a bargain IS200 the only problem being the mileage on the engine 130K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the rest of the car is mechanically sound, except the clunky 1st 2 2nd gearbox!

i will be wanting to either turbo or supercharge this car but im sure the engine will not be able to handle the boost with this kind of mileage.

Although it does have full service history it has lived in the centre of london, therefore alot of stop start driving.

Although i mainly use it for motorway driving i want to get into the drifting motorsport.

So back on topic my question is, would you recommend sourcing a low mileage engine and simply replacing or can i get away with changing the cylinders and head gaskets etc, basically giving it a good gutting!

Please let me know your ideas and knowledge on the is200 engine.

How strong are they?

What sort of power levels can they handle on stock internals?

What aftermarket internals are available?

Many Thanks guys!
