Lowering Springs

Recommended Posts

If you read any of the previous posts i put up you may have seen i am going to be getting some lowering springs in the near future and i am considering fitting them myself.

The main problem with this is it is something i have never done before and just about all i know is get a good set of spring compressors.

So if anyone has done this at all a quick heads up on the best way to tackle it and whats got to be removed would be greatly appreciated (because i don't want to do any major dissassembly if someone knows a trick where u remove three bolts and twist something)

better clarify this will be getting done to a mk 1 GS

cheers

as mat says compress the spring at the rear before trying to take it off or it will be a pain in the butt, also make sure u note the orientation of the shock absorbers in relation to the body - it is easy to have them the wrong way around ( where mat was talking about the arrows) - index everything if need be.

apart from that its quite easy

Great Guide I used that when changing my IS springs.

Spring comoressors are a must, not much chance without.

a little tip is when your taking the old springs off, put the compressors on and only tighten them a bit to stop the spring expanding, you dont need to compress the spring fully, that will save some time and wear and tear on your arms too.
