Exhaust Tailpipe

Recommended Posts

The end of my exhaust looks a bit dirty (I'm refering to the car and not me!!!)

I'm looking on eBay and was thinking of getting one of those chrome tailpipe covers.

Have anyone bought one of those?

Could anyone recommend a place where I should get it?

Can they do any damage to the exhaust?

Does the chrome get dirty and peel off?

Cheers

Is your existing one chrome? If it is have you tried cleaning it.

Brasso wadding should bring it back up again.

I've got an SE. I'm not sure if it is Chrome it looks black probably with all the dirt.

Does anyone have a Chrome/Stainless Steel tailpipe they want to sell. I have a 2001 IS200, I don't want to risk the one from Halfords.

Cheers Sunil

I eventually got one from Stu. top job!

I think its only the post 2001 facelift models that got the chrome tailpipe, but I might be wrong

The chrome tailpipe is only standard on the IS200 Sport right from 99 on.

These can be got from Lexus. PM Chris Shipley, he will sort you out ;)

My 2002 SE has a chrome tailpipe, they changed it at some point, originally the sport ones had the separate trim fitted, but then they made the end of the standard pipe chrome on SEs and Sports
