Melted My Cat

:whistling: was i lucky or what..................well i was on my way back from work...........playing with me boost as you do :winky:

i was going along at about 45 to 50mph and the car just seemed to have no power :ohmy: well im thinking ***** whats up with it now..............still going along i tryed to get more power out of it but it just was not have it! so i pulled over and had alook all round the car to see what was up........ ;) but all looked ok.............so of i go and it seemed ok untill i get to 70mph and i see fireworks comeing out the back of the car :crying: so i pull over jump out to see whats up............went to the back of the car had alook in the back-box and it was GLOWING RED :crying: so with that i had a look at the main-cat and that was all so GLOWING RED but that was not all! the under try was on Fire :crying::crybaby: i put that out but that was it i had to get RAC out to get me home ;) as it looks like i have melted the main cat :o

Wowza, I would have thought it would have taken a bit of work to manage that. Aren't cat's supposed to last for about 8 years? I sure hope its just the cat thats bust and that its easily repairable for you. :D

that must have been serious heat how did the manifold look?  do u have any heat wrap on the manifolds?  aslo check the o2 sensors now u might hae destroyed them!

I can :lol: about it now as i have my lexus still........ but at the time it was abit :sick: serious heat!! you telling me mate it was like someone had painted it RED, and the inside the backbox was abit RED as well..................i have S/S manifold and that was ok, Turbo and downpipe was all so ok............im going to take the main-cat of the car soon and i will take some Pic's
