Bluetooth Question

Does the in-built Bluetooth features on the SE-L have the capability to send and receive text messages?

As far as I know the only phone you can send a receive blue tooth txt messages with is the Nokia N-Gage. :)

I've been able to send and receive texts by Bluetooth using my laptop, and every blue tooth phone I have owned.

what is so special about how the n-gage does it mate?

Erm, well I have never even seen the option to send messages via the Bluetooth function on mobiles mate ..........

Laptops, and Pdas ..... you can ? - I don't have it on my Nokia 6230, and I can't say I have actually ever known anyone else to have had it ?

yeah - easy.

I have software on my PC now, alerts me when the phone rings, reads texts, sends texts, dials numbers, transfers pics etc. (sounds soft - but when you are in an office, its nice to have your phone on silent and use this)

I even had software that allowed me to control my PC with the phone.

Some operators prevent this on the phones that are supplied with a contract as they want you to only send messages through chargeable means. In Japan there is a culture where people sit on trains etc where they are looking to have conversations over BT with people they have never met before.

GONE OFF TOPIC A BIT

The Bluetooth facility is same as a Bluetooth earpiece but with an on screen phone book that allows you to make calls without reaching for the phone !

when phone rings it displays incoming number on screen - thats the only message capability.
