Front Accident Repair As Ive Just

Recommended Posts

Lost the back end travelling not that fast (although apparently not)

Mounted the kerb and ran over 3 fence posts :crybaby:

The front bumper is a little pushed in in the middle and I cant open the bonnet although there is no visible damage.

I think the bumper has pushed up inside somewhere to stop it opening.

I can see through the grill that a metal plate under the radiator has been pushed up twoards the air con pipes and rad but no signs of any leaks

Is this just a bolt on part or something more serious?

Any advice would be very helpful

So would a graphite front bumper

Nope tractional control was on!!!

Wasn't driving like a tw@t either or anything like

The drivers rear was flat when I got it out of the fence so not sure if that was what caused it????

Police went past but was a woman on her own and I had no plates on so hopefully should be ok

Back end first

Any pics

It was a left hand corner with a grass field with said fence posts and a mesh fence on the left.

I went round it broke to the right then left then onto grass and straight along the line of the fence posts

Once we got it off the drivers side rear wheel was punctured so not sure it that was to blame?

It looks as if it pushed up the radiator and the bottom cross piece under the radiator, because the bonnet catch is on the top of a metal bar stuck to this the bonnet wont close properly :tsktsk:

I might have to take out the rad and see if it can be either replaced or persuaded with a hammer to take its previous position :whistling:

Its cracked and scuffed the bumper and broke the headlight washer jet, couldnt believe how easy it is to take off

Gonna get it up on some ramps and see if everything is ok underneath and get the tracking fixed cos its fooked (hopefully its just the tracking :crybaby: )

Got my IS back on the road today

After a pile of bull**** from a so called BMW specialist trying to get me to claim on my insurance by saying my suspension was bent it is ok again.

I should have known better the shyster! :tsktsk:

Took it to be laser tracked and double checked nothing is bent

Decided on 4 new tyres too as they are due

Just have to get round to fixing the cross memebr under the rad the bumper is back on and it looks of for now

Rear Passenger Flappy Thing

Could do with a Cat Heat Shield

Not seen my tyre yet but I believe there is a big rip in the sidewall :o which caused me to try some offroading

Went post counting before and I owe the Water Board 5 6"x3" posts and some green mesh
