As some of you know i am having a few probs with my car lately..

A freind of Gord (whom a few of you have met..lol) is currently looking into the problem of my car which has lost it's VVTi kick :crybaby:

1stly thought of the symptoms were that a pre-cat could have gone, that was all checked out, nope not that, throttle body was cleaned etc, not that.. during which the car was taken out for a run after every adjustment made.. still no luck..

Basicaly the car is running too FLAT!..

anyone know what can cause the VVTi not to kick in or could there be another problem and not the VVTi?

He will be swapping and changing parts off his own IS to mine, to figure this fault out of why the car is running FLAT..

Just wondering if anyone can help out with the issue?

(PS. another LOC member Aspaagua has the same issue with his car, identical too my car so hopefully both cars could be sorted soon)

It's probably not VVT-i then, because that does not "Kick"in like VTEC does on an old Honda. It's continuously variable. The Kick you feel is mainly from the ACIS valve, that switches the air intake to a "short" path for easier breathing above 4600rpm, whereas under 4600 it is set to "long" for better low end torque. The best of both worlds, really.

RX-Men-8 thanks for that info..

It doesn't get any power whether you are in low gear or high, low speed or high, the car just goes in on movement (sluggish)

so it could not be the VVTi controler, what could be the cause tho, anything to do with the throttle body then? sensor? or the coil packs that would issue this problem..
