My Lex has been feeling a bit left out in this hot weather with me opting to use the MX5 topless at every opportunity.

I think I will give it a treat this weekend and finally change the timing belt and fan belt and change the fuel Filter. Its already had Plugs and the HT leads and Dizzy cap and rotor cleaned up.

Changing the belts is the easy bit. The hard part is the fuel filter. Its probably dead easy to swap but I had a quick look around and couldn't find it so thats the reason for the post. Where is the Fuel Filter on a MK1 GS?

Oh, and has anyone got a 10X18 rear for sale?

Pics of a GS300 fuel filter here.

Looking at diagrams it should be on the RHS of the engine (viewed from the front). Follow the metal fuel pipes back until they become rubber hoses. Should be at the other end, where the two hoses join together, mounted front-to-back with a bracket on the top. The flared-out end points towards the back of the car.

Check that the pipes haven't corroded before you take it off. My Carina used to have the pipes changed at the same time as the filter due to corrosion, and Toyota wouldn't change the fuel filter on my Mk.1 for the same reason.
