Has anyone put an lpg conversion onto any IS200 or 300's?

I've been thinking the same thing too.

Can you still get a government grant?

I suppose though if enough people get LPG conversions the government will tax the arse off of that as well as petrol :tsktsk:

Pretty much all modern engines can run on LPG these days, if you are a high miler then it is an option worth considering. Never heard of anyone on LOC having a conversion though, you don't seem to see many IS minicabs

Cost of an LPG conversion to an IS200 is approx £2,000 don't have figures for a 300 but probably around £3,000......

.......so you'll have to do some whacking mileage to recoup the costs

I had mine converted back in April, LPG is fairly available at aroud 30-35p a litre around here so it made sense. had some teething problems at first but they were sorted out straight away. a bit of power loss, but if i want some poke, i switch back to petrol :D

Free servicing for as long as I own the vehicle (don't know how many garages offer this, but Phil Price Rallying (a.k.a. Phil Price Autogas) does).

Took a bit of tweaking (it initially kept kicking back to petrol above 4,000rpm, also the engine light came on on three occasions) but seems happy now (no issues driving to Weymouth and back last week).

Rough estimate: it'll pay for itself in 17,000 miles.

Aren't the government going to be increasing the tax LPG from 2006?

Don't know if it's going to be to the same level as on unleaded though.
