Bluetooth Lo-fi?

Recommended Posts

Took delivery of RX 300 SEL early September; lives up to all expectations....except the Bluetooth!!! Perhaps I'm expecting too much but migrated from a SAAB 95 and the phone system was routed through the HIFI and produced quality sound from all speakers. The Lexus appears (although certain threads would suggest otherwise) to route the whole output through one speaker and the output sounds like the speaker has his head in a bucket. Changed phones from Nokia 6310i to 6230i with no improvement.

Is it the system? Is it the phones? Is it Bluetooth? Expectations too high?

Can anyone advise please.

Hi Bob,

Congrats on your new RX! You will love it!

I am a bit surprised about your speaker problem, try this:

1. Have you tried increasing the volume (tap the + sign on the screen when a call is active) - this make a big difference

2. Make sure windows are closed when on speaker

3. Go to Lexus dealer and try the Bluetooth voice free from a different car. Maybe there is a fault in your equipment.

Thanks Sami. Had a play this morning, got it a  bit better but still not good; perhaps a visit to Leus as you suggest.

Also noticed the Bluetooth, Signal Strength etc icons don't work on screen; perhaps there is a fault. Do they work on yours?

Bob

Hi Bob,

I checked the Signal Strenth icons etc... and all are working fine on my car. I am using a Sony Ericsson but I doubt that has any relevance. You should probably visit to your Lexus dealer for a checkup.

Which Sony Ericsson model do you use; seems as though it could be a Nokia problem. My 6230i is on trial so can return and trial same model as yours.

If it works Nokia problem; if not back to Lexus.

Will post response when I know how the Sony works.

I have the SE V800 also known as SE V800. Any of the new SE phones with Bluetooth should be very similar so you can also try SE K600i, SE K750i, SE W800 if your network provider does not have the same one I have.

I've concluded its the car!!!

Trialled an SPV 500 with no improvement.

Borrowed a Sony Ericcson 750i last night; the integration was good; the signal strength was displayed so this must be the phone for me however......the micophone worked intermittently and the sound was appalling.

Hence....back to Lexus.

Will tell you how I get on.
