Tyre Sizes For Rx 300 Se-l

Recommended Posts

Hi, never have understood all these tyre sizes...

Need winter tyres (live in Chamonix) and have 2 options - keep original 18'' wheels and pick up winter tyre or downsize to 17'' and buy set of wheels and tyres.

1) If I keep the original wheels (235/55/r18) can I use 235/60/r18 as these are available in much better makes eg Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice

2) If I go 17'' I believe UK standard is 225/60/r17 but again there is much better choice in 235/65/r17..which is the standard fit on US rx 330 ..would these fit with no problems?

Thanks guys..confused..James

car is rx300 se-l .. dont know if the air suspension makes any difference?

winter tyres are better the narrower they are, as they dont ride on top of the snow, but cut down a bit and provide more grip.

if it was me I would drop down to 17" and go for a 205 ( assuming that it is a 7j rim)

where are u getting the Rx from a dealer ( cant remember seeing one there) or private?
