Tape Deck Knackered

I use the tape deck to play my minidisc through it with one of those convertors. It keeps auto switching from side to side a lot then just ejecting the tape.

It is really getting on my nerves now.

Anyone had this problem or any solutions.

All i keep thinking is the that lexus have made a crap headunit.

Any reccomendations to what double din to replace it with? I generally use minidisc the most then cd.

Just waiting for the error 3 message to happen.

I've had the same occasionally. I've found taking the tape adapter out and giving it a tap or manually moving the spools helps. I'm guessing it gets a little stuck sometimes. I've been waiting to get a prolex aux in adapter but now that its available and doesn't work for an S model I'm going to see if I can get a better quality tape adapter which will hopefully make less noise, stick less etc.
