Difference Us Vs European Ls-cars?

Recommended Posts

I've found a US imported car for sale here in Sweden.

Before I check it out, I wonder what differences there are to expect?

Softer springs, different interior etc?

All gen 1 LS cars had lots of stuff - including air ride - as standard. (At least the first years...)

Like Colin said, there was a very wide range of how well U.S. spec gen 1 LS400 were equiped.

Very few U.S. spec gen 1 LS400's had air suspension. My 90 LS did not have leather seats - it had very nice cloth seats - and it did not have drivers seat memory, CD player, heated seats, or traction control. The only options mine had were sunroof, keyless entry, and floormats.

The headlights were weak on the U.S. gen 1 LS400 - a terrible beam pattern (the bulbs were 45/65 watt) with a poorly defined cutoff, no beam control dial on the dash, no headlight washers, and the foglights were mounted up with the headlights instead of low in the bumper.

I was quite jealous with a U.K. co-worker purchased a U.K. spec gen 1 LS that came with lots more standard features.
