Fuel Ecomomy / Ecu Reseting

Recommended Posts

Morning All, this could be a really stupid question, but here goes :

I have had my IS200se (Auto) for a month now ( I have done about 1500 miles) and have been watching the fuel consumption like a hawk.

Now the best I have had is 30mpg , the lowest being 22ish, in the main it's 24.

I have tried a few different styles, i.e. steady away, snow mode, cruise contol and the ECU power on all the time. I do find it the latter to be give the best results.

I don't drive it particlually hard, due in the main to around town driving.

But the question is does the ECU learn driving styles/habits? Would how the previous owner drove it make a difference, and would and ECU reset be worth doing.

I would appricate any thoughts or views.

Thanks

Chris :)

If the car doesn't start afterwards (turns over but doesn't kick in), leave the key in the ignition (one click back from "Start") for six minutes.
