How Often Are Updated Satnav Discs Released?

Hello,

I am the proud owner of a shiny new... erm... well old.... 2001 RX300; and I LOVE IT!!! One thing that has occurred to me is that the satnav disc is probably really out of date - there are several roads near me that aren't even there - it's like driving through a field on the little screen

SO I was wondering if anyone knows if there are more recent discs, and if Lexus regularly produce updates? I'd like to get the newest one I can if it's possible. Are they expensive?

At an approximate guess-timate (based on what I have seen), it is at least yearly... Each year's release you can find different "ver." as well.

Your Lexus dealer will certainly have this info, and will most certainly charge you a couple-a-hundred +VAT for a disc...

If its the CD version then you are looking at about £160, if its the DVD version then it will be about £300 for an updated disc

Although they are supposed to be released yearly, I have found that the current release is 5 years out of date. For example the M6 toll road opened in Dec 2003 is still not on the latest discs that are in the new cars being sold today. Mine is a 2004 - 2005 disc and they advised me it is the latest version despte not even being current as of 2003.
