Is200 Power Steering Problem No.2

Sorry to post alongside Russdx's post, but mine's just started with a problem this morning.

My power steering works to an extent but feels juddery and there's an unbearable screeching coming from the engine bay somewhere but i can't pinpoint it exactly. I've checked the reservoir and it's only just under the Max level so i doubt it's that.

Starting to get worried now, can anyone offer up some advice?

Sounds like the pump...sure theres no belts slipping anywhere?

what colour is the fluid, it may be due a change

my power steering fluid is at max, looks blue from the outside but clear when you take off the cap and look inside

Yeah mine looks clear from above and blue from the side.

Going to run it up to a garage in a bit to see what they say.

Could it be anything to do with the cold snap? This morning I noticed that my power steering on my GS was making a loud motor sound. by the time I had got to work it was back to normal again, Ive never noticed this before is this normal?

Cold suddenly shows up a whole heap of faults,

check your belts first, they should be tight, have a look at the pulleys they should be clean of ice and water or they can slip

now have a look in your resevoir before you start the engine, is there any icy looking ice in there, if there is it will be all through the oil and will granulate the oil and make the pump work to hard as the oil is mega thicker

any sign of icy substances means change the oil

Worth pulling all the dipsticks and having a look at them for ice at the same time

Cost me fiver, what a relief!!!!

Just the power steering belt needed tightening!!!!!

hmm might try dat on mine but mines TOTALLY dead under 2k so think somin bit more serious might be up :(
