Replacing the Battery on the Key Fob, its been playing up a bit. Not locking it or needing to be right close to the car before it unlocks it etc...

Is it as easy as replacing the Battery and away i go or would i have to have it reprogrammed by the dealers etc...

I’m worried that if i do it my self would the code be deleted? Or is it like my sky remote that states you have to replace the Battery with-in 1 min or reprogram the code back in?

After reading abut the cost's or replacing the Key from the stealers oops Dealers  i don'nt want to loose the codes on the thing and end up at the mercy of the dealers :D

Any guidance is appreciated.

assuming IS keys work like GS keys, my Battery got recently replaced. no need for reprogramming mate.

in fact, i turned up at lexus edgware road late one evening, asked for a new Battery, they changed it on the spot, and didn't charge me a penny! it's normally 12 quid they charge! :D

Easy enough to change the Battery with a small (very) Philips screwdriver...

Hi, changed my key batteries recently and apart from needing a really fine philips screwdriver...I knew them christmas cracker glasses screwdrivers would come in handy...it was easy, no need to code in etc. Battery number is cr1616, got mine off a well known online auction site, £2 bought me two batteries brand new in packet including delivery...smooth!!
