Auto Closure - Got Geoffers Guide, Now Need Parts...

Have read through the guide and now need help getting the parts.

I'm gonna go for the second option of a "commercially available triggered timer" as I'm no electrician.

What I need is advice from people who've done this mod on where to obtain the parts. Once I've got the bits, I'm happy to have a go at doing this.

Ive had a word with my bro about this he says he could make one for about £20-25 Im kind of waiting though to see if I can find the details on the window and sunroof closure aswell and get it all done at the same time but I can't find the plans.

If I get one built I may be able to get him to build a second one.

not sure when we will get chance though

you can get the timers from Maplin. Thats where i got mine from. can't remember the id's or anything but def from maplin.

Well, I'm looking at this one but I'm not sure if it's suitable - can you tell from those details if it'll do the trick?

Also, did you get your relay from Maplin too?

My mistake i got it from CPC

Heres the link: Timer

Thats the one i used for the mirrors, i "borrowed" the relay from work unfortunatly.

And i used this one Linky attached to the circuit to run the sunroof but i never quite got that working properly.

Hope this helps

Ahh, cool - well that's the timer sorted.

Plus I've just been speaking to my mate who's an auto-electrician and he said he has the necessary relays so I just need to get the timer. He also has a universal window-rollup unit which he can install for the windows & sunroof, assuming he can use the same alarm pickup to trigger this?
