Snow Mode On Earlier Ls Models

Hi,

The later series 3+ LS400's have I understand a "snow mode" option on the auto box which I believe forces the transmission to move off in 2nd gear as opposed to 1st to help prevent skidding on ice and snow.

Question is is there a way of tricking the gearbox into starting off in 2nd gear for the series 1 and 2 ie giving a snow mode option?

Cheers,

Steve

Hi,

The snow mode was over looked by Lexus and im surprised it took them so long to include on the LS.

Theres no snow mode on my Aristo, but if i put the gear selector into 2nd with the power mode option ON then the auto gearbox locks into 2nd gear and you can pull away from a stand still.

For REF...if the selector is put into 2nd with the power mode OFF then the auto gearbox starts in 1st gear and changes up to 2nd and vice versa.

Maybe it would be worth a try on your car?

Hope thats of some help, let us know if it works on your model car.

Chips.
