What are the best bits and pieces to get sorted before going the S/C route , in means of de cats , Air filter/boxes etc???

I am considering going the S/C route next year so need an idea what parts to start collecting

Free flowing cat back exhaust, have the precats taken out of the manifold when you do the s/c. Thats pretty much it mate for S/C. Unless you want a performance manifold

Get a K+N drop in airfilter if you're keeping the TTE airbox or a S/C induction kit with maybe cold air box

to have the cats taken out of the manifold should be about £100 BTW.

the intake /filter that tdi/prolex sell "may" be less restrictive but is very noisy!
