Engine Mangement Light On And Trc Light Flashing

I have just started my car and it seems to be less powerfull, the engine mangement light on and TRC light is flashing.

it feels like its going to cut out or not running properly. any one know what this could be?

still no joy the light went off and now its back on, it sound like a suburo feels like there is no power.

Does the car judder and feel like its back firing and going to cut out??

yes, is it going to be an expensive fix? ive just spent a load of money getting my scrates and ***** removed from my body. :crying:

The same happened to me and it turned out to be a coil pack had gone (plus the spark plug with it).

I think the packs are around £70 new :unsure: can't remember. Get them checked mate and if it is that then as Mat said he's got some. Be alot cheaper than buying brand new.

I replaced all mine but you only need to replace the one that has gone. I've also got loads kicking around too.

i changed the sparks about 3 months ago done about 2000 miles in them. ***** so im going to have to take it to lexus, they charge £100 an hour dont they. is ther any way i can check myself? where abouts are you mat? i am near liverpool

do you know any friendly garage nearby?most garages will charge about £20 to pop in their OBD jobbie,or is it obd,anyway its the diagnostic machine to tell you which if any coil packs have gone,get the error codes and youve got your answer

nope unfortunately not, unless someone here knows anyone. around the wirral or liverpool area.

i have just found its number two coil that is dead. Mat did you say you had some? is it easy to fit? how much am i looking at for fitting or can i do it myself.

I went to a local garage and the guy was very helpfull and didnt charge me arm and leg.

Very easy to change mate. Unclip the wire from the top and then undo the 10mm bolt. The coilpack then just pulls out.

With the new one, just put it in, tighten up the 10mm bolt and then clip the wire back on. 5 min job mate :winky:

cheers for help everybody, ive bought a coil from a scrappy it feels fine now, the engine management light still on and trc light is still flashing. any ideas or do i just need to rest it?
Reset the ECU mate. It should clear it if the coil pack was the problem. You should always reset the ECU anyway after carrying out work on the engine.
