Brake Disc And Pads

I been checking out a few places as I can feel my front dics are warped (when I brake the steering slighly juders)

Also I hear a hissing/whining/screeching sort noise either at the front or rear not sure but its on the right hand side would this mean a caliper is siezing up or needs re-greasing? or is it coz of pads wearing out?

It seems to disppear when I brake and its very tempremental comes and goes when it feels like it. ;)

Any help would be great.

I recently took my Mk11 to Kwikfit, discs guaranteed for 12 months and (believe it or not) free replacement pads for life !! I do more than 30k a year in mine, I consider it a pretty good deal at under £300 fitted.

Hi.

Had the same noise from my brakes....It turns out to be the wear indicators..which are an integral piece of the back anti rattle shim behind the pads which sticks out and touches the discs when the pads are getting low!! I think these are on the front only.....although my back pads were just as bad!!

Changing the pads and discs is a very easy job....but be sure to check the caliper is free as they are very prone to siezure

E bay selling Mintex discs and pads for £90

Get a mechanic to fit them for you prob £40

Otherwise your looking at approx £180 - £250 from dealers garages etc.

I phoned up Lexus and they said £450 for front and rear dics and pads!!!! thats way too much for me to pay - i can get the whole car fully serviced including camelt n plug changes

Think I might go with the mintex stuff
