De-badging

Right gang, last sunday I started de-badging my car. Managed to get of 'Lexus' and the 'IS200' off.

Bloody h e l l it took a considerable amount of time. The badges came off easy using the 'conventional' missus hairdryer (which burnt off broke and need to be replaced one soon without signing the divorce papers  <_< :P ) but the actual glue that was stuck on with was the hardest to come off. Managed to a good job for a first timer but one problem. Where the "I" was stuck on seems and looks to me that is was a different kind of glue was used for that. Tried so much to get that off but it would net even melt/move  so I'm left with a visible glue showing. This is the bit where hopefully you will help me...how the F - C - U - K do I get that off?? Is there any chemical or techniques to get that off without scratching or messing up the bodypaint?

Also got some metalic T-Cut to smoothen the little marks which left but haven't had time to do it yet!

Please, please tell me is there any other easy way or techniques to de-badge as I still got the big "L" to come off.

Many thanks inadvance... :D

I used Safe Cut to get the glue off - took it off easy.........  ;)

My man Zee, thanks for that mate! Stupid question where the hell do I get that from???

Halfords mate - red and white tube (made by turtle wax I think), should be no more than a tenner..... :)

Mine came off fine, i just heated up the glue residue with the hair dryer and then it came off will a cloth?!?

Sounds so easy but for me it took time. Stupid question again...how long did you let it heat up before wiping it off and close were you to the car/glue? Was bit worried would melt of the paint!!!!

On other cars I have found boiling a kettle works well. Not only can you make a cuppa, but if you pour it on the badge a bit at a time then gently lever the badge it should come off ok. Then used some Autoglym tar remover for the glue thats left.

Worked a treat. :P

Thanks for all your reply.

Errm, will try most of the stuff you all said...but this glue where "I" was stuck on is like it was stuck on with superglue or something simular. The damn thing is so hard and sticking out like a sore thumb compared to the other left over glues. The other came off fine...but little marks left so will touch up with T-Cut!

Can't wait to get home tonight to give it a shot!!!!
