Happy new year guys, I've just been given a Snooper S2 Neo. And on reading the instructions it looks as if i need to pay a monthly subscription.

Does anyone know if this is esential or will it work without it?

It'll work but will not upload any changes e.g. new or discontinued camera positions so will be a waste of time using it. I took out a 'lifetime' subscription for my Road Angel as it was the cheapest in the long run as well as I don't have the bother of annual renewal.

It was abit of an impulse buy from eBay, and the listing made no mention of the need to have a subscription. I've just relisted it and i'm looking at getting a brand new one with the lifetime subscription.

It's £99 something for lifetime, or £4.95 a month (which you have to buy in 12 month increments).

I have a Snooper SatNav with a subscription. For me it's worth it, to keep up to date with the camera changes. You also get updated maps every year. If you don't need these things, you don't have to pay it, though presumably any SatNav will need to be updated from time to time?
