Just browsing eBay and I came across a 1992 imported Celsior 1st registered in the UK in 2003 but on a 53 plate I thought like mine ( envy here!) that imports had to have the reg of the year they were made ( in my case 1994 so I get an L reg) but not only that this guy is promoting the fact it is a 53 plate Lexus but you cannot put a private plate on a car to make it appear newer than it is so how did this one get past the DVLA?

Just done an RAC data check and the car comes up as a TOYOTA 1992

So it is correct in the eBay ad. Although he does NOT say it was manufactured in 53 otherwise he could get done for misrepresentation of the car and that would be illegal.

Obviously it has slipped through the net at DVLA

It is still only a 92 so I can'tsee the car bein worth any more than its proper value.

No doubt in the future somebody at DVLA will notice the mistake when it changes ownership or some Plod will notice and the 53 plate will be taken off it.

Just a mistake I supose

Have you watched the video clip... in it he states that "we've done some research and we suspect it to be a 98".... why would you need to research the age of the car? If you bought it legally you should have all the documents showing you the year of manufacture.

I suspect this could be another one of those cars that gets pulled over by the police and has the chasis number checked only to discover its on an international list of nicked cars....
