Good evening people.

Just a quick question. The tyres on my LS430 seem to be wearing evenly and the car doesn't pull to the left or the right. Now I don't always have a heavy right foot (unless there is a boy racer in dire need of a spanking), but my rear tyres seem to be wearing alot more than the front's. Is this normall as the GS300 I used to have never got through back tyres like my LS430? My rears must but be nearly half a mm away from the tyre wear indicators so I will be down to Elite Tyres in Raynem for a new set of Michelin Piolot Sports next Saturday.

P.S. Really miffed as my detailing guy didn't turn up today and didn't bother ringing either so if anyone can recomend a detailer in the Hertfordshire/North London area then I would be very greatfull.

My rears are wearing pretty quick as well, tyres just don't seem to last so long these days, remember the old Michelin advert "lapped the world not once but twice with tread to spare" so 48,000 miles, their latest advert says they will go NEARLY round the world.... 22,000 miles

I think its acombination of heavy car and subtle traction control, I'm sure mine spin a bit before it cuts in and you know how easy it is to spin tyres from the earlier 400 without traction...

Hi Pete.

Thanks for your reply. On my driving school car I normally do quite well. 40,000 out of a front pair and I never really replace the backs unless of unrepairable puncture. There is a huge difference between 75bhp and 280bhp as well I suppose so I think I had better start buying shares in Michelin. I currently have Dunlops on it at the moment and can't wait to get rid of them.

I have orderd today for fitment this Saturday, two Michelin Piolot Sports for the back of my LS. I'm looking forward to it being alot quieter compared to the Dunlops which are currently fitted. £380 for two tyres including ballance and fitting so it ain't too bad.

Not too bad? I just paid £395 for 4 Goodyear Eagle F1s - also including fitting and balancing. I know Michelins are a touch more expensive but that seems an awful lot!!

What size are they? Mine were 235/45ZR17 - so they can't be that much smaller than yours?
