Hi Guys

I want to buy a Lexus/Toyota Aristo Mkii TT V300 but i need some help. I am trying to do research on the car but i am finidng it difficult to find anything out about the car.

I had a couple of questions and was wondering if anybody could help me.

I am looking to spend around £6000 and i was wopndering what i shouuld be looking for for eg

1. How long does these cars run for in terms of mileage eg upto 100,000, 200,000 etc. I am looking at an R reg so what mileage should it have done to be in condition.

2. Also what are the bad points i should be looking out for when buying this car?

I have found one i want to buy but i also wanted to know if anybody knew of any places where i could easily pick one up from (trade prefferebly)

thanks for all your help

J

Hi,

The Mk2 Aristo is generally very well built and as long as the car has been looked after the milage shouldn't be an issue. If we assume an R reg car is from 1997/1998 and based on the average of 10K miles per year, that suggests 100K - 110K as the average milage. However in my experience a lot seem to be bought as second cars, so are not really near that milage.

The only bad points I know about are the Rear steering rack which has a tendency to fail and is the weakest point of the car. The others are general wear and tear items such as balljoints and bushes.

Have a look here for lots of info:

Good Luck with your search. Do you have any more info about the Aristo you have seen?
