Hi,

My LS has developed a fault! No I don't believe it!

The central locking has given up on the front passenger door and following the tutorial on Lexls I removed the door panel and checked the supplies to the door solenoid/motor assy and with the aid of the wiring diagram confirmed the correct supplies were present in lock and unlock modes.

I am therefore assuming that the solenoid has given up but this is where I hit the problem as I have no factory manual to assist me in removing/replacing the solenoid and there are many screws and links which I do not fancy removing as knowing my luck the window would fall out!

The question is does anyone have details on this project in a factory manual?

If so any help would be apprieciated as I am getting grief from the other half ( "open the door it's raining!") as I lazily reach over once in the car then she forgets to lock the door manually and the anti hijack system keeps trying to lock the doors once over 20 MPH until she does.

When I removed the locking mechanism on mine, [this was drivers side, failure of the small swictch behind the lock barrel] some of the linkage rods were dry and rusty.

Before you condemn the solenoid, try some WD 40 on all the linkages in case any are siezed.

You can get the complete lock out to check but its fiddly to extract.
