Tip - If You Want To Turn Engine Off

Recommended Posts

I've been hitting road works regularly for the last two weeks on the journey to and from work and have been switching engine off until the traffic moves.

When I do the radio switched off and I have to push the start button without foot on the brake to turn i back on, well by accident I found if you leave the car in "D", foot on the brake, then push the start button the radio stays on but ignition and engine are off. Then you can move from "D" to "P" in your own time before you want to start and move again.

I know somebody asked if you could do this some time ago, well you can :)

Could you please tell, how much that engine switch off affects your fuel consumtion?

I recently had aout 13,4liters per 100km. After taking my driving under focus and keeping my foot off from the pedal o little more, the consumtion lowered to amazing 11,5 :)

What are your achievements? :D

Car: IS250, automatic
