Good Evening everyone.

I went on to the Meguires website tonight and bought myself the DA Polishing Machine, Soft Buff Foam Polishing Pad, and the Soft Buff Foam Finishing Pad. I really want to give the old girl a good going over before JAE. Has anyone used this before with Meguires Scratch X and then Tech Wax? I've looked on Detailingworld and find the amount of information a bit bewildering. If anyone is in the Hertfordshire area and can show me the ropes when it comes to using these machine's I would be very greatfull.

Many thanks everyone.

I would like one of those I have to say!

Don't think I'd use it with Scratch X though? I'd just use that on localised areas to get rid of noticeable scratches. Or were you thinking of trying it to get rid of swirl marks?

Maybe try something like the three stage Meguiars process, shouldn't be that tiring with the machine :)

Thanks for your advice as regards to using Scratch X with the polishing machine. I've been on the Meguiars website again and bought the three step cleaning and another pad for the polisher. Will post some pics when all my new toys turn up. Thanks again.

if you are trying to get rid of swirl marks i would suggest you get some menzerna polish and a light/cutting pad.i have found that the 100mm pads are my preffered choice.see the menzerna range at polished bliss.

hi!

I bought my lexus over 3 years ago and have always used Meguiars deep crystal 3 step polish, haven`t polished my car this year but still get a fantastic shine after a quick wash and dry.

I use a polisher but only on the second stage just to ensure I dont end up with swirl marks, can I also recomend Meguiars quick clay I use this first and will leave your paint smooth as glass.
