Is200 Engine Noise,,,

When I start my is200 I can hear a distinctive noise which sounds like a sreeching sound. It goes away immediately and only occurs upon starting up. I have not been able to pin point the exact area the noise is being omitted from, but it sounds electrical. Any ideas?

Sounds like the fan belt David , it either needs tightening or replacing , I'd hedge my bets and replace it pal.

Are you sure it's not a drive belt slipping ? That can make a screeching sound.

Last time I checked, phone boxes were up to 30p! Knowbody uses them anymore since every 6 year old kid has a mobile.

Back on topic....will definatly be one of the belts. I have had this on other cars.
