Converting From Km To Miles

Hi all, :)

I recently bought an Altezza, recent import. The speedo has been converted to mph but the odometer is still reading in Kilometres. Does anyone know of a garage that can convert it to miles, the closer to south Wales the better. :D

Is the reading on the odo now going up in miles or is it still going up in KM then?

Still going up in KM, is wasn't converted. I bought the car from a dealer who'd imported it for himself, he changed the speedo but couldn't find anyone who could change the odo. He found someone eventually but by that time he'd decided to sell. I could ask him if he could put me in touch with the person he was going to use but it would be a bit far for me probably. Kicking myself that I didn't ask him to get it done before picking the car up.

If I could find somewhere closer that would be ideal.

Thor Racing could do it I'd have thought, don't honestly know who'd do these near you though - have you looked to see if there are any import specialists in your local Yellow Pages?

They're Coventry way

Didn't realise Thor could do this. Used to take the MR2 to to Rogue occasionally they're in the same estate. Did try to book the car in Thor for a session on the dynomometer, they weren't the most friendly or helpful people.

I was hoping that there are some members on here from South Wales/West of England who would know of anyone otherwise I'll just get in touch with the dealer I bought the car off.

  • 2 weeks later...

My import was also converted before I bought it and does read in Miles not Km's.

Unless you want it to read miles for personal reasons it doesn't matter as when it's MOT'd tell them it's reading in KM and they will put this on the certificate as such.

After I bought it I discovered it was still limited ( don't ask!) but I never bothered with it as I cannot do 155MPH anyway ( or 113 MPH come to that)
